As we approach SHAPE’s 10th anniversary, my thoughts are turned to the parable of the mustard seed recorded in Mark 4: 31-32. SHAPE’s beginning could be described as a mustard seed – very small and perhaps even insignificant. It is clear, however, that the ‘little idea’ of touching lives, has impacted a vast amount of young women who have been able to ‘lodge in its branches’ and find a sense of peace and security.

There is an African proverb quoted by the Dalai Lama which states: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven’t spent the night with a mosquito”.

SHAPE has made, and continues to make a big difference in the lives of many young women!

May the next decade see SHAPE’s branches spread far and wide bringing hope and comfort to young women in need, who in turn, will make a success of their lives.
