NCVO and Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales visit SHAPE to gain an insight into the work that our team undertakes in supporting the vulnerable young women in our community.

CEO of Lloyds Banking Group Mr Charlie Nunn shares his experience and gave thanks to the Trustees, in particular to Operations Director Cynthia Spence, Chair of Trustees Beverly Stephens, and Trustee Luretha Williams, for the remarkable work they do. He also stated that:

“At Shape, residents spoke movingly about what the hostel represented to them – a safe space, where they could rebuild trust and realise their aspirations to protect others. Many of the women I met wanted to become social workers, teachers and midwives, and Shape is enabling them to both find their feet and transform their futures.”

This sentiment was echoed by Brenda McMullan, CEO at The Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland, stating that:

“Seeing first-hand how you support the young women in your care will have a lasting impact on us all.  It was clear that it is not just about the money, but also about offering support to increase the capacity confidence of our charity leaders giving their all.” Charlie Nunn It was wonderful to accompany you on this visit to SHAPE”
